Steampunk Tags

As I have been unwell for a few weeks now n haven't managed to do any crafting at all ( if anyone comes across my mojo please send it back!!!! lol) I decided to update my blog with a set of tags I made a few weeks ago. I join in with a monthly tag swap over on facebook in a group called mad crafters giggles n the theme for August was steampunk. Right up my street!!!

I used my fave steampunk stamps from Kanban that seem to come out again n again! I used my trusty promarkers to add the colour.  The background is a cogs mask from Splodgeaway which was embossed onto coredinations and sanded back. I added a strip of washi tape to each tag n got to use my new die from xcut- the cogs. Love this die n they're so effective! I finished the tags off with garden twine.
Pop over to facebook n take a look at the crafters giggles group. Theres always loads going on n lots of challenges to enter. :)
Hope you've enjoyed looking n I'll be back soon with some new work!!!
Take care and enjoy your day even if it is Monday!!!! lol. Thanx for all your fab comments. Big hugz, Jayne xxxxx

Steampunk

Well it seems steampunk's making a bit of a re appearance at the mo as I seem to be coming across it everywhere I look, which is all good as I LOVE it!!!
This is my latest steampunk offering

I tried to put lots of texture and interest into the background to begin with and used a piece of pearly patterned paper from my stash. After fixing it to the card blank I used a cogs Splodgeaway mask and embossed it which shows up really well on the left hand side.I then coloured the white cardstock with crushed olive distress ink and addad a border with the pear green promarker to add definition. The 'tag' shape was diecut and then embossed with a Tim Holtz folder which was then sanded. The sentiment is from creative expressions and was stamped onto a piece of card coloured with distress ink as before. I added a liberal sprinkling cogs which were die cut from pearly paper with an xcut die- my new fave - love them!

My image is from Kenny K and she's called Scarlet West! I love Kenny K digis as they all have loads of attitude! I coloured her with my promarkers and added lots of foiling to highlight her buttons, buckles and jewels lol!

A closer look at the sassy Scarlet!

A closer look at the embossing detail.

I'm entering my make in 2 challenges this week:
http://kennykskraftykrew.blogspot.co.uk/ and
http://ilovepromarkers.blogspot.co.uk/

Thanx soooo much for visiting and hope you have time to leave a little comment- I really do appreciate all your input! Take care n hope to see you soon. Hugz, Jayne xxxxx

Beautiful in Blue !

I have real problems colouring blonde hair without it looking yellow!!! The challenge at graph'it this week is...... blonde hair so it gave me a kick up the rear to get my markers out n have another go.
This is the result
For the back I used pale blue pearlised card which I embossed with the psychedelic splodgeaway mask to add texture. The spotty paper is from dovecraft basics range which was matted onto textured silver mirricard.

My image is from Saturated canary and she's been coloured with promarkers then die cut- can't remember what make die! As usual I've finished her off with foiling on her earrings! I just love foiling and makes no mess unlike when I get my paws on glitter !!! lol

Thanx for stopping by today. Have a fab day whatever you're doing. Hugz, Jayne xxxx

Glamour and Glitz

The challenge over at saturated canary this time is glamour n glitz and as my collection of these FAB digistamps is now quite considerable and most of them are very glam I was a bit spoilt for choice lol!
Before I post this I must apologise for the quality of my pics- don't know whats wrong with my camera!!!

I started out with the fab saturated canary stamp which I coloured with my promarkers. It was cut out with a spellbinder die and matted onto textured silver card. The backing paper was from my stash- free from a mag! I cut round some of the elements with a craft knife and slotted my image underneath it. I used a printed tag sentiment and added a silver ribbon then the whole thing was finished with lots of glitter and some sparkly stones!

Thanx for visiting and I promise I'll try and replace the pics for better ones as soon as I sort my camera out!!!    Lotz of hugz, Jayne xxxxx
<3  Replaced - much better now ! lol.

Through My Mask

My latest project for Splodgeaway is showcased on the blog today, using different mediums and masks.

I created the background by dry-brushing acrylic paint and covering it with a dye-based wash which gave a 'worn' look. On top of this I layered distress ink through a flower border mask and outlined it with white gel pen and finished it with snowtex coloured with reinker squished through the dot the lot mask. This overpowered the piece a little so when it was dry I sanded some of it back.
The main image was stamped onto a book page and coloured with coloured pencils to give a soft hint of colour and the rest of the images were stamped with sepia ink to give an overall impression of 'vintage worn'.

A closer look at the texture.

I love experimenting with different mediums through my masks - the only problem is I sometimes forget to stop!!!
Thanx for stopping by and taking a look. Why not have a peek on the Splodgeaway blog n see what the rest of the fab DT have been up to here ? Hugz, Jayne xxxxx

Pink n Lemon

Hi all. Well I've had a really busy week last week n didn't manage to do any blogging or even any crafting for the whole week!!   :(    I'm trying to catch up but it's far too hot to hurry lol.
I haven't entered any of the Kenny K challenges for ages and as I had an order for a sweet 16th card I decided to combine the 2!
The challenge theme is Lemonade sale - a photo inspiration which was basically shades of pink n lemon. Here's my take on it

The image is Mae Western from Kenny K. I love her as she seems to have so much attitude !!!
The background was created with various papers from my stash and the sentiments from lili of the valley.

A close up of the lovely Mae whom I coloured with my promarkers, adding touches of foiling to finish.
Thanx for stopping by. Hugz, Jayne xxxx

2nd post of the day I'm on a roll! :)

Thought I'd better post my card I made for the I <3 promarkers challenge before I ran out of time !!! The theme this weeks a colour combo 'pink n blue'
I used a sweet Saturated Canary image for this. Love it - soooo girly!
I layered up various pink n blue patterned papers from my stash for the background and did a bit of faux stitching around some of it with sakura sparkle pans.

I die-cut my image and coloured it with promarkers and added fine ribbon which I threaded through the holes on the left hand side. A bow and a sentiment from Papermania added the finishing touches.
I like the 'clean' 'girly' look of this card. Why not pop over to the blog if you have time and look at the other fab entries here- maybe have a go yourself !
Thanx for taking the time to visit me and I really appreciate your comments.  Hope to see you all soon. Hugz, Jayne xxx

Lavender Tag

Good morning everyone. A gorjus sunny start to the morning here- let's hope it stays that way! Hope it's nice wherever you are.
My latest work for Splodgeaway is featured on their blog today- project 'anything but a card' Pop over to their blog and take a look at what we've all been up to here.
tomorrow sees Tom n Hazel back on create and craft so tune in to see all the DT work and some fab new masks.
Before I start I'd just like to say hello and welcome to my new followers. Thanx for joining n I hope you find some inspiration or at least enjoy seeing what I've been up to ! lol.
Back to my project. I decided to do something with fabric for a change so used some raw silk to produce this lavender bag.

I used loads of spray dyes to colour the background in conjunction with various splodgeaway masks then added the silver swirl with silver fabric paint through another splodgeaway mask. When I stamped the bird so it looked like it was sat on the silver swirl it didn't show up very well so I embroidered around the outline with metallic floss and coloured it with inktense pencil. I overstamped it all with a text stamp to add more texture. An eyelet was added with various fibres then lace and a heart charm finished it off.

I added a dot of liquid pearls as my birdie needed an eye ! lol

Hope you like my latest offering. Have a good day wherever you are n whatever you're doing. Hugz, Jayne xxxxx

Something 'Borrowed'

Evening all. Well it's been a good day. I met up with my crafty Monday mates and spent the day crafting :) We always have a laugh and a chat as we work. What more could you ask for !!!
I was wracking my brains on what to take to do as I always seem to end up colouring and have loads of toppers done that I never get round to using! lol.
Sooooo.... this week I decided to practice my zentangle or my version of it anyway lol .I 'borrowed' a page from my daughter's colouring book to tangle and this is the result;

I was in my own little world and really enjoyed it AND I felt really relaxed which is a plus these days lol. Mind you I'm not sure what to do with it now it's finished! Hope you all like it. Thanx for visiting. Hugz, Jayne xxxxx

Toffee swirls

Morning everyone. We're off to a good start weather-wise as it's quite bright n sunny but the forecast for laters not good at all :(  Never mind.....some crafting time !
Before I start I'd just like to say welcome to my new followers and thankyou Sandy for taking the time to leave me soooo many lovely comments. Everyone's  comments are much appreciated. <3
My latest DT work is featured on the splodgeaway blog today http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk/ so pop over if you have time n see some of the fab work the rest of the DT have created.
It was all about my fave mask n I chose the swirly lattice. I love the way the swirls draw your eye to the middleof your work.... perfect placement for your image !

My image is a digi stamp from Jade Dragonne. I coloured her face and hair with promarkers and 'tangled' the rest of the image . The background used distress inks and the swirly lattice mask. The sentiment is from Lili of the valley and I added a border and ribbon to finish. . . oh and some punched flowers in pearly copper paper!
Hope you like my latest creation. Take care and have a fab day whatever you're doing. Thanx for stopping by. Hugz, Jayne xxxx

Monochromatic Makes

Well Hello all. Couldn't sleep Again so I thought I'd use the time to catch up on my blog instead of recounting the huge flock of sheep I've spent the last week or so counting!!! lol.
I really like working in black n white at the moment and I made my latest card using the new love of my life - zentangle - well sort of - my version of it anyway!!!

My image is a Make it crafty digistamp called girl with locks. I love her - she's soooo sweet. The background was created using black distress ink and a splodgeaway mask. The ticket sentiment is from Kanban and the ribbon is from Debbi Moore. A bit of stickles finished it off.

A closer look at my image. I coloured her hair and skin with promarkers and 'tangled' her clothes and hair ribbon. As I'm only just starting out on the zentangle road they are only very simple tangles but I really enjoyed doing it - soooo relaxing- and they do look quite effective! I got so engrossed the time flew by. I was in a little world all of my own lol.

Sticking with the monochromatic theme my daughter informed me that my gorjus grandson, Kian, has grown out of all the jackets n cardis I crocheted him when he was born n asked me to get my hook out again. I bought this gorjus pattern off etsy and got cracking.I really enjoyed creating it as it was worked in 1 piece from the neck down and was interesting. Really pleased with how it's turned out n am now doing a beige n cream one the same !!!

Anyway I'm off to see if I can get some sleep! Thanx for stopping by n I would really appreciate any  feedback if you've got time.  Bye for now. Hugz, Jayne xxxxx

Violet in Watercolour

Good morning all. Another bright sunny morning here. Hope it's nice wherever you are! My design for a project using the fab splodgeaway mat is featured on the splodgeaway blog today.

I used distress ink and one of the abstractz masks, blended on my splodgeaway mat to create the background and used the same technique with one of  the new border masks to create the mat.

My image is a digistamp, Violet Vintage from Saturated Canary and I used my mat to lay down distress inks which I then used to watercolour my image. Some flowers from my stash, some ribbon and a sentiment finished my card off.

Thanx for stopping by. Hope you all have a FAB weekend whatever you're up to! Hugz, Jayne xxxx

My Talented Daughter :)

Good morning to you all. Another bright, sunny day hopefully - it's off to a good start anyway! Today I would like to share with you the card my daughter, Bridie made for her dad for father's day.
She's 13 and we like nothing better than to sit and craft together - nothing beats some quality crafty time together!

She used stormy skies distress ink and a splodgeaway mask for the background and my splodgeaway blending mat and more distress inks for the topper before stamping it with some fab seaside themed  stamps which were free in a stamping mag!
Hasn't she done a good job? I love it and I'm sure her dad will be dead chuffed to get it! :)

Thanx for taking the time to look. Hope you all have a fab day whatever you're doing. Hugz, Jayne (and Bridie !) xxxxx

Lovely Ladies

Evening all. (sound like Dixon of Dock Green!!! - showing my age a bit there lol) The challenge over at Octopode this time is 'lovely ladies' and this is my offering.

I've chosen to use Helga - LOVE these images as they're sooo different and quirky. I used a doily and patterned paper from my stash , card candy and the sentiment is from the Frou Frou range at crafters companion. My good mate Carol donated the bee to finish it off !

The marvellous Helga up close n personal!

Thanx for looking. Hope you like my latest offering. I'd really appreciate you commenting. Hugz, Jayne xxxxx

Cute little Tangles

Morning all. What a beautiful start to the day! Sun is shining n the birds are singing. Lets hope it stays like this.
This morning I'd like to share my latest card which I made using tangles instead of colouring my image in. I've only just started doing zentangle so the patterns are pretty basic but I really enjoyed doing it.

The image is from Lily of the valley and I love it - soooo cute! I left the rest of the card pretty plain so as not to detract from the image although I did use embossed pearlised paper from Debbi Moore to add some texture.

A closer look at my tangles!

I really enjoyed doing this - it's soooo relaxing and even if it's not true zentangle I like it lol.
Thanx for stopping by. Have a fab day whatever you're doing. Hugz, Jayne xxxx

Gorjus

Morning all. What a lovely sunny start to the day - hope its gonna be as nice as yesterday. Had a lovely day at the beach yesterday with one of my daughters n it was fab - hot n sunny n not too packed. Today I'm spending time with my other 2 daughters and my grandson with a visit to my mam thrown in !. Looking forward to it !
I thought I'd share a card I recently made for a friends birthday using the FAB Gorjus stamps.

I wanted to keep this card pretty 'clean' looking - not too fussy so for the background I used a fairly plain piece of patterned paper from my stash with just a small flowered corner on the design.

A closer look at my gorjus girl image which I coloured with flexmarkers and promarkers.
I added touches of glitter and the sentiments to finish. The ticket sentiment is from papermania and was originally a background stamp but I cut it up into individual stamps - more for your money lol.
Thanx for looking and I really appreciate all your lovely comments. Have fun whatever you do today. Hugz, Jayne xxx
