Splodgeaway Miniatures

One of my latest offerings is featured over athttp://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/make-it-in-miniture today. Pop over and take a look at what everyone's been up to.
I haven't actually posted for a while but have been really busy making samples for Tom's show on create and craft on the 4th of January! You'll have to wait to see those lol.
Anyway back to todays project. We had to come up with a miniature project using Splodgeaway's Fab mini masks and I decided to make a mini book.

I found a metal cigarette case in 1 of those shops where everything costs the same lol and used that to make the outside of my book.I rubbed it down with sandpaper and painted it using Acrylic.
The pages where made from a basic accordion fold and adhered to the inside of the tin.

The unfolded pages .

A closer look at the pages.

I used Indigo Blu's Art quotes stamp but you could use any colourway and topic you like. The possibillities are endless. Have fun and thanx for stopping by. Hugz, Jayne xxxxx

Brayer 'n' Butterflies

Hi all.  Over at http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk this week the design team had to make a project using a brayer. This was quite a challenge for me as the only time I've ever used a brayer was ages ago at uni to do monoprinting! I've never used one in my papercrafting before! Anyway I played around for a while and this is what I came up with:

I really like using the splodgeaway masks as a 'stamp' and using them to emboss with. Have a look at http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk and you can see how I've made my card and see what the rest of the DT came up with. Thanx for stopping by. Hugz, Jayne xxxxx

Happy Sassy Christmas

I made this card for the challlenge over at http://kennykskraftykrew.blogspot.com/ where the theme is 'sassy christmas'. Kenny k has such sexy images to choose from they're made for your cardmaking for the special man in your life! lol.

The flash has spoiled the effect a little but you couldn't see the card without it!I made a wardrobe card and cut it down so the front was a little like opening a present! After colouring the digi stamp with pro markers I cut it out and used foam pads to attach it to the inside that had been decorated with a paper from HOTP. I edged it with fine border peeloffs and then added the gold mirricard border to the front flaps so only her face is visible when the card's closed. The wide red ribbon and bow added a feel of luxury and I used foils to give the top half a distressed look.

Inside I used Dyan Reavley's christmas downloadable sayings on the left side which goes with image perfectly and just stamped merry christmas on the right hand side, leaving room to write a message.
Hope you like the sassy christmas card and take a look at Kenny K's..... they have some Fab images up for grabs if you enter their challenges. Hugz, Jayne xxxx

Snow all around

the theme over at http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk is 'let it snow' .

My project was this circular easel card with an aperture which looks much more complicated than it actually is!

The snowflake hangs in the aperture

The Molly Bloom image ....... so cute!

Pop over to http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/snow-all-around-by-jayne-davies.html. where you'll find full instructions on how to make this card and see what else is going on in Splodgey land! Thanks for stopping by. Hugz, jayne  xxxx

Contemporary Vintage

The theme on the Splodgeaway blog this week is 'splodge and blend - create a new trend' and my card is featured today. I went for my fave vintage but brought it right up to date by using a blue colour pallette.

Have a look at http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/splodge-blend-goes-vintage-by-jayne.html for the full instructions on making this card and see what the rest of the design team are up to. Bye for now. Hugz, Jayne xxxxxxx

A New Addition!

Sorry I haven't blogged for a while but I've been soooo busy and I also have another good reason....... My daughter gave birth to my first grandchild on Sunday 11th November. My daughter and her fella, Cain have a beautiful baby boy they've called Kian Anthony. Thankyou to the two of them for allowing me to share and be at the birth. It was the most amazing thing that's ever happened to me and well done Sian. You were a star - soooo proud of you. Anyway here's a pic of the little man.

How cute ??????

Of course I made them a card to mark the occasion and used my fave baby stamp from Joanna Sheen. Unfortunately I think it's been discontinued now but you might be lucky enough to get hold of it.

The pic doesn't really do it justice (I really must brush up on my photography) but you get the idea. I found a really lovely poem on the internet but it was annonomous so I can't link it or thank anyone.
Anyway it was just right for my card.

Is'nt it just beautiful? Of course in my card it was straight !! lol.
Thanx for looking. Hugz, Jayne xxxxx

Vintage Christmas Card

Morning Everyone. Once again my card is on the splodgeaway blog. The theme was vintage ladies and I decided to do something a bit away from my usual vintage offerings! This is what I came up with:
Vintage images always look soooooo straight-faced and I thought this sentiment from Dyan Reavley fitted in perfectly! Sorry the pic quality isn't so good but I had a catastrophe with my micro sd card and so had to take the pic on my mobile and email myself it!!!!!
Tom is on create and craft tomorrow with loads of fabby new splodgeaway goodies and tons of inspiration sodon't miss that and why not pop over to http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk/2012/11/ and take a look at what eveyone's been up to. I'm off to search for my sd card for hours AGAIN lol! Thanx for stopping by. Hugz, Jayne xxxxx

November Splodgeaway Challenge

Hi all. The second Splodgeaway monthly challenge has opened and the theme isChristmas  Blue 'n' silver! Take a look at http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk/ and have a go. Take a look at what the DT have been up to. There's some fabby Splodgeaway goodies up for grabs !
I decided to make a christmas wall hanging instead of my usual card lol!

I used some Molly Bloom stamps as the main focus that were in a christmas mag n stamp pack and coloured them with my promarkers. The background was made using Splodgeaway snowflake-a-lot mask and various blue distress inks. All my supplies were purchased from Suzicraft.

Some close-ups of the images as you can't see the detail on the main pic!

Lots of stickles and liquid pearls added the finishing touches!
Have a go yourself and be in with a chance of winning those Splodgey goodies! Thanx for stopping by. Hugz, Jayne xxxxxxx

Happy Halloween

Well that spooky night is nearly upon us and the theme over at http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/happy-halloween.html is 'spooky sights'. I was a bit stuck at first as I don't own any spooky stamps so I decided to use my serif craft artist software to help me out!

Instead of using the program to create a background and add a stamped image as I have in the past I used it to create my central image and used fab Splodgeaway masks to create the background! I also used the build-a-pumpkin mask from splodgeaway to make my pumpkins.

To find out exactly how I made my card and to see what the rest of the DT have come up with pop over to http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/happy-halloween.html and take a look. Happy halloween and thanx for looking. Hugz, Jayne xxxxx

Simple Christmas

The Theme over @ http://stlukescharitycardschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ this month is simple christmas n we had to make a christmas card with no stamping that could be easily n quickly made for when we have to make lots! Out came my grand calibur n this is what I came up with.

I used a decorated card blank from Debbi Moore as a base. I embossed a christmas tree onto co- ordinations white wash card and lightly sanded it, cut it out and matted it onto linen embossed silver card. I added adhesive stones to the sides and then 'decorated' the tree with pink stickles and silver and pink liquid pearls. To tie it all in together I added a pink liquid pearl to each side. Quick and easy and quite plain for me! What's got into me lately??? lol. Hope it's given you some inspiration for when you need a card superquick! Thanx for looking. Hugz xxxxxx

Autumn Glory

Hi all. My latest project for the Splodgeaway DT was  on the Splodgeaway blog at http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/autumn-glory.html yesterday! I've been soooo busy arranging a surprise baby shower for my daughter for last night that I hadn't even realised it was on!  The theme was 'autumn glory' and I decided to go for something other than a card and made this candle and gift box.

A closer look at the detail.
Anyway pop over to http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk/ if you'd like to know how I made it and see what the rest of the DT have been up to.
I'm off to my 'second home' again.....the local hospital! It's turned into 1 of those weeks again! Eldest daughter admitted Monday then sent home, youngest daughter admitted Thursday then sent home and now my eldest daughter has been told to go back today by her midwife!!! It's all go. Thanx for stopping by and hope to see you again soon. Hugz. Jayne xxxxx

Forty

Hi everyone. It seems like ages since I posted! I have been busy making cards and projects but they have been for the Splodgeaway DT and so I'm not allowed to show you them until they've been on the Splodgeaway blog or tv!
This card was an order for a mans fortieth card. Apparantly the recipient is golf mad so this is what I came up with.
I started with an 8x8 card blank and hand cut the '40' and covered each number with paper from my stash. The golfer was a stamp I had in my stash (can't remember who makes it- sorry),. I coloured him in with promarkers and added some stamped flags and holes, also coloured with promarkers. I inked around the edges with spiced marmalade distress inks, using my fabby splodgeaway mat and added the sentiment.
It's a bit plain compared to my usual style  but it does fit the bill lol. Thanx for looking. Hugz, Jayne xxxxxxxx

A Yard of Twine !!!!!!

Our DT for the Splodgeaway blog task this time was to use a yard of something in our design. I thought I'd have a go at a card for a male and use a yard of twine (like you use in the garden!!)

As well as one of my fave Splodgeaway masks I also used the fab Indigo Blu's Alice in Wonderland stamp set that Suzicraft have recently got in stock........ love it!
Have a look @ http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk/2012/10/a-yard-of-twine.html for instructions on how I created my card and while you're there you can enjoy all the things the rest of the DT have been busy creating. Enjoy ! n thanx for stopping by. Hugz, Jayne xxxxxx

silver wedding

Just a quick post and not a very good pic I'm afraid :(
It was my good friend Sue and her hubby Paul's Silver wedding Anniversary this week and I made a card for them -
It was the first time I'd used the embossing folder (from papermania) properly. It's a triple embossing folder and I loved the look it created- all the different heights really showed up well on the silver mirricard!. The image is from Lili of the valli and I just love it..... they're sooooooo cute.
I was really chuffed this week when I was invited to be on the Splodgeaway design team properly!!!! Sooooo I'm not a guest designer anymore..... I'm a 'proper' designer lol . I'm off to create some projects for the dt so I'll catch you all later. Hugz, Jayne xxxxxx

Christmas Bea

Woohoooooo the challenge at http://teddybochallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ is Anything goes........ a perfect opportunity to buy a new image or 2 and goooooo wild lol.
I got this new image of Teddyy Bea and straight away it reminded me of a christmas fairy! How sweet is she ????
I used some mirricard and some papers from my stash to create the background, hand cutting a christmas tree and a present. I used bakers twine to 'tie' my pressie before attaching it with foam pads. I cut a star from a scrap of mirricard.... you can't have a tree without a star!!!

Bea was coloured with promarkers and spectrum noirs and bits of glitter glue and foiling (have to have a bit of bling!)
The sentiment was from HOTP and it was coloured with sakura glaze pens. The whole thing was finished with some card candy and red liquid pearls for the berries. I had such fun, especially as my friend,Sue came round and we crafted together. Thanx for the company Sue . Hugz, Jayne xxxx

Monday 10 September 2012

An Odd Couple !! lol

The challenge this month @ http://stlukescharitycardschallenge.blogspot.co.uk/ is 'couples'. The card could be for any occasion as long as it featured a couple of some kind, human or animal !

Sorry for the rubbish pic but as I previously explained my camera is out of action. I had to scan this into my computer and so the bit that is a bit more raised (where the flowers are) is a bit blurry! Sorry but you get the general feel of it lol. It was only after I finished the card that I realised the couple is actually a cat and a dog !!!
I started this card last week when I went to the Suzicraft coffee morning. My friend, Sue was 'playing' around with inks and masks and produced this great background but she wasn't sure what to use it for............... so I stole it  !!!!    Thanks Sue .    :)
I made a card blank with silver embossed mirricard and matted my stolen background onto it. The image was a stamp from ? buzzcraft?  I coloured it with distress inks and a waterbrush to watercolour, giving it a pretty, soft look. I only used milled lavender and black soot  so I didn't 'overdo' it.
I cut it out and mounted it onto a scrap of sparkly mirricard, fixing it to the card with foam pads. The bow was created using seam binding that I 'mopped' up the distress inks that were left on my splodgeaway mat after Sue did the background - A perfect match ! I tied a very loose bow and fixed it to the top left of my card.
I used the sentiment that was with the image and stamped it directly onto the card, highlighting it top and bottom with liquid pearls in white. The flowers were cut with nestabillities 'bitty blossoms'. It was the first time I'd used these and I absolutely LOVE them..... so pretty.
Take care and thanx for stopping by. Hugz, Jayne xxx

A Little Garden Fairy !

Hi all. The challenge this fortnight at http://toffchallenge.blogspot.co.uk is 'how does your garden grow?' so here's my entry;

I used Octopode's FAB Tinkerbell digistamp coz who doesn't want a wee fairy at the bottom of our garden? lol  I coloured her face with promarkers and then the rest of her was watercoloured using a mix of distress inks and twinkling h2os.( It looks really pretty when you move her and the irridesence shows up! ) I used a pale blue promarker on her eyes to give them a hint of blue and used black liquid pearls in the centres to make her eyes pop even more than they did already!

The backgrond was created with dye sprays using shades of green on the bottom half and blue and lilac on the top. I then used the ghost technique and a flower mask on the bottom half to produce subtle flowers.
I used onestroke painting to create the flowers and leaves and it came out ok although I'm a bit out of practice and could do with brushing up on my technique ! lol.
The sentiment is from Debbi Moore and I finished off by adding glitter, a dotty border and a bow to the sentiment and a crown to Tinkerbell. I rubbed pink glitter glue into the holes on the crown so the 'stones' matched the flowers.
Hope you like it! Hugz, Jayne xxxx

Bring out the Bunting

The challenge this week at http://ilovepromarkers.blogspot.co.uk is to make a card with bunting on it. As the challenge is sponsered by Lilli of the Valley I used an image of their's that was a freebie in a mag some time ago.
I coloured my image with promarkers and used my new favouritest piece of kit.......perfect pearls, to make her necklace..... love the effect you can get with these even if you don't manage to apply them perfectly!!

I think the background paper is from my minds eye which I made a border on with a promarker. I used some scraps of pastel striped paper from my stash and a fiscars border punch to make a horizontal border. My bunting was cut from the same paper and I used a hero arts alphabet stamp that I've had for YEARS but use again and again, to stamp 'love'. The 'with' was hand written with a zig caligraphy pen. I used card candy and stickles to add a bit of 'glitz'. Thanx for looking, Jayne xxxxx

Splodgeaway DT Cards

Well I've been quite busy lately designing cards for the Slodgeaway DT and enjoying every minute. There's nothing I like better than getting all inky and messy! lol.
My card's on the Splodgeaway blog today so pop on over to http://splodgeaway.blogspot.co.uk/2012/09/embossed-spira-circule.html and take a look and see what the rest of the DT have been up to as well.

One of my cards for the DT was also on the TV last week on create and craft with Tom (mr Splodgeaway)

Using the same stamp but a very different look with soft, pretty pastels.
Hope you like them. Hugz, Jayne xxxxx

September Already!! Where has the year gone ???

Well I'm still trying to keep up with Kate Crane's calendar journal challenge over at http://thekathrynwheel.blogspot.co.uk/. Pop Over and have a look..... there's loads of gorge work and inspiration by the bucketful !!!!

Sorry the pics not so good.. my camera's out of action at the mo so had to take it on my mobile phone! I think it's sad that it's the end of summer (although we don't seem to have had much of a summer lol) Anyway that's what my pages are about this month. I used oranges, coppers and bright hot pink to lift my mood n cheer me up and created layers with masks, spray inks and crystal print magic from Debbi moore to create a resist technique in places. I then used a floral mask and promarkers to create some more bolder florals. The squares for the days were cut from various pink and orange patterned paper from my stash. I used some die cut butterflies which I think is a memory box die. I also used 2 digistamp steampunk butterflies from wonderland stamps. I used some caligraphy pens from zig to doodle the trailing vines and flowers around the edges and my main focus is Pierrot from Octopode designs. I love this stamp and it was appropriate to colour him in black n white which meant he stood out against the highly coloured background.

A close up of my clown...... how cute ????    I coloured him with promarkers and added highlights of silver foiling and red.
The month title was handwritten with a calligraphy pen as were the days of the week and 'the end of the summer'. Pleased with the overall look of my pages and portrayed exactly what I wanted - a last bright spot before the winter sets in !!! lol. Thanx for looking , Hugz, Jayne xxxxx
